- By means of the control panel, the camera can be stopped at any live image and can be enlarged to fill the whole screen.
The Beehive
Life inside and outside the hive is monitored with an array of measuring devices.
A camera (1) at the hive entrance, which is able to see in the dark with infrared, allows one to observe all bees flying in and out of the hive. Another camera (2), again equipped with IR light, registers the weather and environmental conditions in the garden. The quick flying movements are displayed in color by a thermographic camera (3). All arriving and departing bees are registered with photoelectric barriers (4), which can detect the direction of movement. The entire weight of the hive and every deviation is registered by a fine weighing system. The brood box (6) contains the colony and further sensors and measuring devices. All measuring data except video data are stored on a recording device (7); the video data are uploaded onto a special server that is designed to play and record living pictures in real time (a streaming server).
